Twenty years as a successful independent hotel has seen Soughton Hall establish a reputation as one of the most select venues in the North West.

Nearly 300 years old and once a home to bishops and nobility, the hall is now privately owned by John & Rosemary Rodenhurst. The stately historic elegance of the exterior hides a boutique hotel with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that's perhaps more relaxed and informal than you may expect from a country house.

Recently refurbished and redecorated by Rosemary, Soughton Hall's fifteen sumptuous bedroom suites, stunning dining room and functions suites, private library and bar all have the highest standards of interior design, using handmade carpets and beautiful fabrics and are filled with antiques and curios.

Lucknam Park in Bath, Wiltshire Wedding Venue

Exclusive use gives the bride & groom complete private hire of the house and a total of 41 bedrooms. This naturally means that there are no additional room hire charges to be incurred and what all brides especially love about exclusive use is knowing that they will see just their friends and family wherever they go in the house. The hotel is effectively closed to anyone other than the wedding party for the duration of their event, impromptu visitors to the hotel during an exclusive use event are not even allowed across the threshold such is the desire to respect the privacy required by booking exclusive use. Increasingly we are finding that there is a bigger demand for the personal atmosphere that an exclusive use event provides. The word that continually springs up is "house party feel" which is exactly what can be had by hiring a venue privately. The period of exclusive hire usually runs from 2.00pm until 11.00am the following morning, generally departing after a hearty breakfast. The rate will normally be inclusive of full English breakfast for all resident guests. To achieve the best value from an exclusive use event you should consider having your wedding on a week day, or even a Sunday which is becoming increasingly popular. Friday and Saturday are, naturally, the most popular. The key is to be flexible, we are very happy to assist you in offering alternative scenarios.

Magdalene College, a Cambridge Wedding Venue

The College has it origins in the year 1428 when King Henry V1 approved the establishment of a hostel on the site for Benedictine monks. Beautiful lawns, stunning courtyards and the longest river frontage of any Cambridge College makes the ideal setting for your wedding. The Pepys building, with its beautiful cloisters bedecked with hanging baskets, lends itself wonderfully to champagne receptions. The immaculate College grounds are a perfect setting for wedding photographs. And the magnificent 16th century College Hall, where the wedding party dines by candlelight, creates an atmosphere that is scarce rivalled elsewhere in Cambridge. Imagine walking through the ancient courts, retracing the steps of T S Eliot, C S Lewis, Samuel Pepys and Rudyard Kipling to name but a few. We have a variety of mouth watering menus to tempt you with. Alternatively if you would like to discuss your requirements, our experienced Head Chef will be happy to give advice on all aspects of your catering. In addition we can provide wine from our own cellar and have our own wine experts in College to advise you. We have a varied mix of rooms and locations available to ensure that you wedding will be perfect.
